Jacob Construction Building Okan Tower, Miami

OKAN TOWER, one the nation’s most exciting and anticipated commercial development projects is currently in construction with an anticipated completion date of 2027. OKAN will become one of the most iconic and defining landmarks of Downtown Miami, Florida for decades to come.

The unique structural design of OKAN will rise 70 stories, punctuating the Miami skyline with a curved apex shape, a tulip, paying homage to its Turkish influence and billionaire developer, Bekir Okan, representing Turkey’s first major real estate investment in Miami.

Architecture is by internationally renowned design firm Behar Font & Partners. Jacob Companies, of West Palm Beach Florida is providing construction management/general contracting services. Well underway with the recent completion of early sitework, excavation, piles, and a recently completed massive concrete foundation, the largest skyscraper in the southeast is moving forward at a rapid pace.

Designed to be “The Iconic Landmark” of the Downtown Miami skyline, and rising 902 feet in the air, OKAN Tower will be Miami’s tallest structure, and one of largest skyscrapers south of New York City when it debuts in 2027. OKAN’S unique architecture and sleekly modern design will feature a façade clad in a glass curtain wall, accentuated by sleek, horizontal lines. Projecting balconies will offer residents unobstructed views and a sense of openness. Recently updated renderings show the tower’s residential component is split between 163 Sky Residences situated on floors 51-70, and 236 condo-hotel units that can be offered as short-term rentals located on floors 36-50. These units are designed for those seeking a more transient lifestyle with the amenities and services of a luxury hotel. A 316 room Hilton Miami Bayfront Hotel along with 64,000 square feet of ‘Class A’ office space will round out the interior space. Two luxury pools, one on the rooftop and the other on the 12th floor are expansive and breathtaking. The sky deck is designed with private cabanas featuring sweeping views of downtown and Biscayne Bay. The ground floor lobby will serve as a welcoming gateway, setting a tone of elegance and sophistication for residents and visitors alike. Common core areas are interspersed throughout with elegant and luxurious features including club rooms, fitness center and spa and social gathering and leisure spaces. Other amenities include a custom wine cellar and outdoor lounging and entertainment space for residents and guests.

Jacob Companies recently completed a 36-hour continuous concrete foundation pour which began on Friday, March 29, 2024 and was coordinated by general contractor/construction manager Jacob Companies. During the pour, approximately 12,000 cubic yards of concrete was poured into the massive, excavated hole for the foundation measuring 234 feet x 140 feet and 14 feet deep and 2,300 tons (5,070,632 pounds) of high strength reinforcing steel was placed in the foundation by a crew of 300 workers across three shifts with the help of 1,200 concrete trucks.
